Blast was established in April 2012 by its current owner Josh Hignell.  When Josh was just 18 he began providing mobile bars at weddings, corporate events and private parties throughout Bristol & Bath.  Josh witnessed first hand the flourishing event culture that Bristol had to offer and it was the next logical step to begin to offer the other requirements for a successful event.

Over the next few years Blast Event Hire was established and grew into what is now regarded as one of the leading event hire companies, with high profile clientele and an ever growing reputation.

Originally just based from within shipping containers offering small amounts of crockery, cutlery, and glassware, to private events where existing bookings were in place for the mobile bars, Blast soon developed a reputation.  With little to no marketing taking place, word of mouth spread and recommendations soon led to more orders, more orders to new customers, to finally requiring more staff, vehicles and a larger premises.

In 2024, Blast Event Hire acquired Richardson Event Hire. A neighbouring delivery radius, similar stock inventory and shared set of values has made the acquisition a logical step for Blast. 

Now based primarily in its 30,000 square ft. distribution centre and offices in Bedminster, with additional warehousing in Bristol & Gloucester, Blast continues to go from strength to strength, with so many of Blasts new customers and venues coming through recommendations and such positive word of mouth throughout the very large, but relatively close knit industry.

Blast now supplies the equipment for some of the largest and most prestigious events throughout the country and has one of the largest stock inventories throughout the South West & beyond. 

The future is set to be an interesting one for Blast, with new avenues being explored all of the time and exciting projects in the pipeline, 2024 will be a very exciting year and Blast shows no sign of slowing down.
